The Town of Pulaski is currently accepting applications for Fire Marshal. This position performs and may supervise work involving fire prevention inspections, public fire safety education, code enforcement, building inspection, and investigate all fires and explosive/bomb incidents.
Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED supplemented by firefighting training courses and experience in and ability to perform fire suppression operations. A valid Virginia driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the Town of Pulaski and its insurance provider is required. The individual selected must be certified as a Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Investigator, Building Code Academy for Core Module and Advanced Module within three years.

The Town of Pulaski, Department of Public Works will be accepting applications for the position of Automotive/Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Successful applicant should be knowledgeable on a wide variety of vehicles, machinery, heavy equipment, and diesel engines. Job duties to include but not be limited to oil changes, tire rotation, mount/balance, maintenance of belts, hoses, air and hydraulic brake repairs, computerized and electronic system diagnostic repairs. Maintenance on dump trucks, salters, snow plows, backhoes, track and front end loaders, transmission and small engine repairs as well as police patrol units (highly electronic and computerized)
Successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s license upon hire and obtain Commercial driver’s license within six moths of hire. Applicant must also possess or be able to obtain within 6 months a valid Virginia state inspection license.
