Duck Derby Kicks Off on October 2nd

The YMCA of Pulaski County is excited to announce Duck Derby 2020, on Friday, October 2 at 6 p.m. at Historic Calfee Park. Come enjoy live music by the Eric Gress Band, games, cash prizes, delicious food and more in this safe, socially-distanced, family-friendly event.

This has not been a normal year, and neither will this be a traditional derby race - it's a Duck Pluck! Picture 5,000 rubber ducks scattered around the outfield, that will be plucked at random for your chance to win one of ten prize packs. Could you take home the grand cash prize of $1,500? To enter, adopt one or more ducks, at $5 each. Visit the YMCA, participating locations, including Calfee Park events or www.duckrace.com/pulaski for ducks and more info. Additional prizes include over $500 in gift cards and merchandise from local businesses and an annual family membership to the YMCA.

And, that's not all the fun. The night kicks-off at 6 p.m. with a Home Run Derby. Adults compete to knock one out of the park, while kids age 17 and younger bat in a youth division, both for cash prizes. Cheer on these sluggers through exciting semi-finals, finals, and an awards ceremony. Advance registration required; details posted on September 9 at www.pulaskiymca.org and on the Y Facebook page.

The YMCA is seeking sponsors for this event, as well as local businesses who would like to contribute to the prize packages. For more information, contact Jessie Woods, YMCA CEO: 540/980-3671 or [emailprotected]
